백수린의 소설집 『폴링 인 폴』. 2010년 가을 《자음과모음》에 발표한 작품 《유령이 출몰할 때》와 2011년 경향신문 신춘문예 당선작 《거짓말 연습》으로 등단한 저자의 첫 소설집이다. 소설에 대한 믿음과 열정으로 쓰여진 아홉 편의 이야기를 담았다. 경계에 놓인 이름 없는 존재들에 관심을 가지고 그런 존재에 제 이름을 찾아주며 인간에 대해 잘 이야기할 수 있는 작가가 되겠다는 마음으로 쓴 이야기를 만나볼 수 있다. 저자의 소설적 출발점이 어디에서부터 시작되고 있는지 알 수 있는 두 작품 《유령이 출몰할 때》와 《거짓말 연습》에서 소통의 가능성과 그것에의 의지를 근본적으로 묻고 추구하는 모습을 보여주고, 단어가 뒤바뀌면서 생기는 에피소드를 통해 저자의 섬세한 언어적 감수성을 보여주는 《감자의 실종》, 일인 시위를 벌이는 여자의 곁을 지나쳐버린 후 말을 잃어버리게 된 남편과 그를 지켜보는 아내의 모습을 그린 《꽃 피는 밤이 오면》 등의 작품이 수록되어 있다.
