‘Line Webtoon’ is in the ‘Line’, the biggest website in Korea and most of readers are young. Trageting them, many of webtoons are easy and fun to read. However, among these light ‘Line Webtoons’, there is a heavy and serious webtoon published weekly for SEVEN years. The title of this webtoon is <Magician>. Let’s take a look into it. This webtoon is set in an imaginary continent ‘Pantera**’. In this fantasy world of myth and magic, there are knights, magicians and even monsters and fairies. ‘Iremi’, who can use nature magic, meets the most powerful magician ‘Ethermask’ and the story begins to unfold. It seems quite typical for a fantasy webtoon. This webtoon has not been that popular to be the first or second place, but it always remains stable between 7th and 8th place. Appealing uniqueness of this webtoon must attract readers well.

<Magician> has been published serially for 7 years with no break, so it is tough to just ‘read through’ this long webtoon for reviewing. However, I can dive into it, because every episode is wonderful, in both quality and quantity. Every episode has quality of sophisticated cartoon illustrations in it. Ethermask coming back after being thought dead and the way how magic combat are described are especially amazing. Story, direction and illustration are also diverse and unique. These facts make this webtoon long-run hit. 

Later episodes are quite different from earlier episodes in a draw style, but quality is still good. With this amazing quality and quantity, this webtoon has been published for a long time. Surely, it is worth reading. It is much more meaningful that continuing STORY has been published for 7 years, not just an ‘omnibus’ type without a story.

I usually think ‘How will this webtoon end?’, when I read webtoons. Somehow, only for this webtoon, I don’t care about the ending anymore. It became my habit to read this. There is an entry barrier because of long-term publishing. Without that barrier, this webtoon is unique and solid. If you want a reliable and steady webtoon, well, <Magician> is your webtoon.
