Line special webtoon relays are just like a small ‘league’ in Line Webtoon according to a season or fitting the mood. Webtoon relays have been published for 6 times since 2011. Among these relays, ‘Horror Webtoon Relay’ is the most popular one and begins in early summer. 2011 Mystery Series, 2013 Hometown Legends and today’s <Chiller> are in Horror Webtoon Relay.
In the original relays, many characters or episodes have become issues. For this 2015 series, high quality is a remarkable issue. ‘Effects and Direction’ are impressive. BGM, sound effects and animated pictures are a good match when readers scroll down and read them. As the brand new webtoons, every effect, which Line Webtoon tries, was splashed out. Above all things, it is notable that reading these webtoons is more optimized to a smartphone than to a PC.
When you read them with your smartphone and earphones, they will be more immersive and realistic. You must be totally scared. I don’t know whether it has something to do with many smartphone users or immersive nature of a smartphone, but somehow reading webtoons with a smartphone really works. <Chiller> starts with ‘Dr.Killer’ by an artist DEY who is famous for a zombie webtoon ‘Dead Days’ whose reading experience is like watching a zombie movie. Although <Chiller> is completed, the rating of Dr.Killer is still high. Many webtoon artists put up good webtoons at <Chiller> with higher quality than their original serial webtoons. I don’t know whether it has something to do with a growing number of horror webtoon artists or the well-received starting webtoon. Anyway, many readers loved it and gave high ratings. In particular, this series ends with a finale by ‘Horang’, the king artist of horror webtoon. The finale ‘Wall Knock Ghost’ is really scary and also gives us a message that ‘Human is more cruel than a ghost.’ Many readers love it.
It’s still hot, although fall has come earlier this month. An ironic new word ‘Hot Fall’ has something to do with this hot weather. If you can’t sleep at night because of the hot fall, you have to read <Chiller> alone with your earphones in a dark room.
