‘Former life’ is a word comes from Buddhism, meaning the world before we were born. As one of three life forms in Buddhism, it is an expression of background of reincarnation. There are quite many works that uses ‘former life’ as a theme. In these works, it is fun to compare the life in present with those in the former life. The material of ‘former life’ is also used for webtoon. It is <The moon rising during the day>.

<The moon rising during the day> begins with the present. ‘Yeong-hwa’, a female character in <The moon rising during the day> is a cute college student with righteous and cheerful personality. ‘Yeong-hwa’ has been able to see the ghosts since she was young and she lives painful life because of this. She didn’t see the ghost for a while because of the talisman written by one monk, but as she meet ‘Jun-o’, she got to know about her former life and the existence of ghost that has been followed her since she was a child. ‘Yeong-hwa’ had a long crush on ‘Min-o’, her friend with same age. And ‘Min-o’ had a younger brother named ‘Jun-o’. 

‘Jun-o’ was 2nd grade in high school, lived in only detached house in the town where is full of multi-family housing, and had picky personality to be close. That was what ‘Yeong-hwa’ knows about ‘Jun-o’. ‘Jun-o’ has had a bad heart since he was young, and eventually dies with heart diseases. At the funeral of ‘Jun-o’, there was a rattling sound from the coffin and dead ‘Jun-o’ comes back to life again. 

However, ‘Jun-o’ who is back from the coffin, was somewhat different from before. He said that he was ‘Yeong-hwa’s husband in her formal life. He also tells the reason why he is dead and he will get rid of all dangerous things that have happened to ‘Yeong-hwa’. Since then, he became a Gaya woman named ‘Hanrita’ and became associated with Silla nobleman named ‘Doha’ in his dream… Who is in ‘Jun-o’s body and why did he die? It is <The moon rising during the day>, a romance for conflict that goes between past and present.
