‘Dragon Ball’ was a big shock to the cartoon world. Many authors of great cartoons tell why they became cartoonists. Their dreams of cartoonists had come from Dragon Ball. This great Dragon Ball has been loved by many readers with its scale which becomes bigger along stories of the main character. However, as the story goes on, Goku Son died, and his son and grandson mess up the story. Many readers say it started strongly but ended in an anticlimax. 

Now, among Line Webtoons, there is a Dragon Ball-like webtoon which is loved by many readers with a well-made and big story. That webtoon is ‘God of High School’. It seems like a story of high schoolers, but in fact, it is a war of Gods. Many readers fall in love with this webtoon because of acts and personalities of the main character’s group. Also, while reading many episodes you will find it interesting that many early foreshadows become parts of the well-structured story. The storyline itself is also exciting, so there is an online fan café of this webtoon. But, at the part 6, the author may not handle the way too big scale, so it feels something lacking. It’s not completed yet, so there is a possibility of a good ending without an anticlimax.

 The story begins with a member of the Korean National Assembly who has power over the world. There was a prediction that something big will happen, so he commended to ready for it. Every high school student who has power over a certain level comes together from the whole world and has the fight competition so-called G.O.H.

 At first, it shows how to gather up the main character’s group. One man came out and said that you are qualified for G.O.H., so it could be boring. However, thanks to unique characters, it is really interesting to read.

Jin Mo-Ri, the main character of the story looks like a normal student, but he found out strong fighters to defeat. He has become strong with a Taekwondo lesson form his grandfather. This grandfather is a foreshadow too, but it becomes the part of the story after a long time. Anyway, Jin Mo-Ri was invited to G.O.H.

‘Han Dae-Wi’ is one of important minor characters and strong enough to be called Mad Cow, but at first, he eagerly earned his money and looked like he was not interested in fighting. That’s because his friend entered a hospital for some reason, and he earned his money to pay for it. As soon as he heard that becoming the winner of G.O.H. makes him pay for his friend or cures his friend, he joined G.O.H. 

 One other member of the main character’s group is ‘Yu Mi-Ra’. Initially, she looked like a perfect girl who is good at both studying and exercising. She also looked like a cute and innocent girl who just slipped when she was with her boyfriend.

 However, that was fake. In fact, she is one of great fighters with strong power and also the successor to the ‘Moon Light Sword Style of Yu Family’.

 As her father said, she had been looking for a strong man to get a good seed and pretended to be his ideal type. She didn’t manage to find a perfect man, so she decided to join G.O.H. to find a perfect man with a good seed. 

 First, the main character’s group joined the competition with their own reasons and in the beginning, they met each other and became friends. When you see these characters became stronger together, it feels like boy comics.

In the beginning, it is the fight competition with the title of G.O.H. Frankly, a typical competition means that one is a winner and the other one is a loser and it is quite a dichotomy, so this competition usually makes readers want that the main character always wins and the other side must lose. However, every participant has their own attractive stories, so readers are immersed in the webtoon and somewhat hope opponents to go well. Also, many martial arts and violent scenes make readers excited and sweating.

In the middle stage, a scale of the story becomes bigger and many foreshadows about the reason for the competition and reminiscences become a part of the story. The author planned it since the beginning, so there are so many well-structured foreshadows of the story.

 Also, the main character and around characters has become stronger step by step like boy comics and explode their power at once, so it is really exciting and thrilling. Also, every background with Gods at many scenes looks fascinating too. There are combinations among many classic and common myths. From the eastern myth, His Yu Chi, it expands to the Titan from Greek and Roman Mythology. These myths are common and normal form our usual life, so it is really familiar and interesting to every reader whether they know these things well or not.

As I said before, this webtoon is following Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball began with a small competition and its scale becomes bigger and bigger to the War of the universe and Gods. Many settings of Dragon Ball don’t match with each other and it becomes quite boring, after many episodes are published. God of High School too, at the part 6, hesitates and wanders because of a big scale, but it is being published and not completed, so it can be fixed well.
