Woojin goes to military service for 2 years as soon as he enters the university and Gayoung adapts to the university life faster than Woojin. Woojin finishes his duty and comes back to the school. At that time, a story of <Something About Us> really begins.

 

 Woojin thinks Gayoung is just a friend, but Gayoung begins to see him as a man who is always by her side. At the same time, Woojin gets interested in her friend Yujin and Gayoung’s mind and emtion become mixed and complicated…. Chanhee who has loved Gayoung for a long time just comes on. Chanhee notices Gayoung & Woojin are just friends and expresses his good emotion on her…. 

 

 These days, webtoons try to show ‘unique’ stories. The unique subject, unique development of a story, unique drawing style and unique… they try every unique thing. Of course, there are really good webtoons, but they only try to show unique things too much, so their storylines become unnatural. Awkward development of stories makes these webtoons uncomfortable to read. Even more, some webtoons are not able to sympathize.

 

 About this ‘unique’ point, <Something About Us> is a very comfortable webtoon to read. It really synchronizes with readers for 100%. Readers can sympathize easily. It shows young 20s’ complicated storms in their minds well. They are not unnatural. Every line and expression is natural by themselves. It feels like my 20s. It also shows people their 20s too.  

A few days ago, I had a good dinner with one webtoon producer. At that dinner, he told me about his opinion on a good story. For the good story, natural story is the first and better than uniqueness. He said <Something About Us> as an example. I was curious about the webtoon, so I read it. I realized why he told me like that.

 

 While reading this webtoon, I(40s) can feel the emotional wave of 20s which is sad, warm and struggling. <Something About Us> is drawn in a pastel tone, but for me, it feels like a colorful oil painting. Everybody’s 20s is brilliant. I really miss it…… and…… I want to go back~!! Fin.
