Korean comic book industry was once categorized as ‘published comics’. With the collapse of ‘published comics’, however, a new content called ‘Webtoon’ became the mainstream of comics market today. Famous authors from the ‘published comics’ era couldn’t even finish their work properly and disappeared with the collapse of ‘published comics’ era.

 

Since Ryu Ki Hoon and Moon Jung Woo, the authors of the masterpiece (Yongbi the Invincible), have finally entered Naver’s Webtoon, the webtoon that I’ll be sharing today is (master).

 

is the first work published on Naver by the ‘Yongbibulpae’ author duo, where the life of ‘Kangryong’, the main charcter, at a dumpling place is depicted with splendid actions and exploding sense of humor.

 

 

 

It is loved by its readers wholeheartedly since it has been giving them unexpected surprises on nearly every episode, starting from the prologue where the main character’s enemy dies. With just 4 episodes published so far, is already ranked 2nd among webtoons published on Wednesdays on Naver.

The drawing has great quality but it got simple compared to ‘Moon Jung Woo’s ability to write, and such downgrade seem to be a measure taken by the author in consideration of his previous works that he couldn’t finish.

But I think he has made a good choice because with his compromise, the amount that is being published got considerably greater, the story became more thorough, and important points in action scenes and background still retains high quality.

 

Just like their previous works, the fact that the main character ‘Kangryong’ is the master of ‘munchkin’ is significant, and although it is a bit different from the cool main character depicted by the authors, I think it may be the formation of sympathy that makes the main character friendly.

 

 

 

 

Return of the masters of comics in the midst of the stagnation of , the webtoon ranked 1st, is foreshowing a major changes in the comic rankings in Naver Webtoon.
