is a mature webtoon set in near future. Time and place carry out an important role in narrative media, because material and structures of conflict are decided by them. Sometimes we run into some quite sorry works, where nevertheless they claim their genre as Chosun era, Wuxia (or martial arts), Fantasy or SF we can’t tell them from a work set in contemporary time. This one is far from such mediocre works. Though I can’t put a tag of full-fledged SF, -- in fact, it is hardly a Soft SF, neither -- this webtoon depicts an interesting story, blending the internet broadcast, particularly explicitly mature ones run by girls, “girlcam”, and fast-approaching future technology. 

There are two main characters. As many narratives do, they are a man (male protagonist) and a woman (female protagonist). The former, Cha Jinsoo, is an Augmented Reality (AR) technician, and the latter, who visits Jinsoo to use his cutting edge (?) technology, is Solmi. We can easily tell that Solmi is a camgirl. And she’s a quite successful, popular one. 

Jinsoo, who seems to be adept in his technology, was barely covering his own expenses, maybe because he’s just unlucky or he is not very good at sales. The story begins as he is suddenly visited by Solmi and she offers him a large amount of money as a retainer. Her intention is very clear: she wants to find out a new, more exciting broadcast material by using his technology.

I found the blend of AR tech and adult broadcast quite intriguing. For example, from the work, Solmi, roams over the street full of people in her birthday suit; and in people’s eyes, she looks normally as if she dressed properly. Meanwhile, the viewers can look at her fully stripped body as she really is. The viewers also can activate the vibrator inside her by donating. Understandably enough, they can see her channel through a VR-like device to look at her as if she’s in front of them.

The fun gives the reader as a mature webtoon can be summarized into two points. One point is the broadcast itself. It seems Korea in the near future became a sexually open for some reason, either by a general perception or by a legal regulation. It is perfectly okay to masturbate or even have sex in front of many and unspecified viewers. Thanks to that, this mature girlcam broadcast has no limitation to its contents. So, the reader in reality roughly shares the audio-visual excitement of the viewers in the webtoon.

Another point is the relationships between many camgirls and Jinsoo, who is hired as an AR engineer but now has more interest on the other side, or is becoming that way. As in most works of the same kind, Jinsoo is not only an AR technician but also an exceptionally sexually energetic person, and he seems to have a good appearance and nice personality, too. No matter what excuses are given, not long after the story began, Jinsoo comes to have sex with Solmi and do some arousing pranks with her, then with other camgirls who are in the same group with Solmi. According to Solmi, he is being liked by some high rank people of the broadcasting group.

The camgirls, including Solmi who appears first, tend to be turned on quite easily. Frankly speaking, in the reality, because of innate limitation as it is an occupation, camgirls are unlikely to be turned on for real; but, you know, this is a fiction. Perhaps they could only hire such girls. Anyway, the camgirls are sexually aggressive beyond their occupation requires, and they don’t let Jinsoo be alone for a moment, as he is attractive and capable, or so it seems. As an energetic adult man, Jinsoo also never really turns them down, as they have a face and a body good enough to be their assets.

That’s the story. It has a model and stable structure. Once the reader gets over the narrative license as genre requires, the story flows smoothly, and it hardly contradicts itself. Drawing is highly commendable as it’s a high-ranking webtoon in the mature section in Lezhin Comics. Maybe these words are too obvious, so I’d like to give an edge on the material it adopted. A perfect blend of the future technology and the adult broadcast. 

All the more, there’s the male protagonist who does his job as technical support and enjoys unexpected good fortune on the side. It’s a well-made work, with fresh material and solid basics. If not for the genre itself, most readers can enjoy it without finding anything to their disliking.
