Our society is often too generous in the measure of punishment for unreasonable crimes. 

When people hear about such crimes, many people make an impassioned speech and get angry. 

Deluxe Taxi, a webtoon for us who were just upset by unreasonable ruling. 

Deluxe Taxi that starts the meter for thorough revenge of the guest develops its story in each episode. 

Each episode deals with events we have heard at least once on the news, making us to focus on realistic description. 

 

 Every man wants to avenge for what they have suffered. 

This webtoon elicits such deep inner feeling of people as natural as possible even though there are some aggressive parts. 

As I read ‘Deluxe Taxi’, I became angry with it and sometimes felt cool about its revenge. 

 

 

 

 

It is very amazing that two authors use the material of taxi and taxi drivers, which are familiar with people. 

When I see this webtoon, one movie pops into my mind. ‘Guns & Talks’ released in 2001 has some relevance with this. 

The images of killers, who were gathered together to avenge for their clients, seem to be overlapped much of the way taxi drivers in ‘Deluxe Taxi’. 

 

 As showing the process of revenge for various requests, the webtoon indirectly criticizes the irrational aspects of our society. 

I will tell you about episode 3, the most memorable episode in Deluxe Taxi. 

 

One man cares teenage runaways and has sex with them under the name of father and he even uses drug injections to them so that they can’t run away easily, making them insane. The scene that was just like illegal organizations in foreign movies was very impressive. But author expressed the man called father as someone who is in politics. I think this point is very great part of directing. 

 

 

 

 

 

Author describes a man who should be a pattern for others as someone who led youth prostitution sneakily. I think this is a skill of God of authors. 

 

Episode 5 <Island> tells the story of residents who are ridiculously subjected to violent acts by criminals that are hard to see. I was looking forward to see how two people who committed merciless violence to powerless and poor people would be punished by a taxi driver of Deluxe Taxi. 

 

 

 

Of course there are many episodes and punishments, but especially episode 5 <Island> made me angry a lot. So I was more anticipated about the story. The scene of two people being published for their villain acts according to the style of Deluxe Taxi, which avenge as clients want, was quite cruel, but it was also satisfying and thrilling. 

 

We usually think that ‘we hope it should be punished like that for the cruel crimes’ and sometimes present opinions about it. Such thoughts are realized in the webtoon of ‘Deluxe Taxi’ and doing revenge with various ways is quite aggressive and plain, but it is definitely a webtoon that makes our stuffy mind refreshed.
