In the house she thought she was living alone, actually a ghost has been living together. The protagonist tries to drive out the ghost by all means, but finally she gives up, and they get friendly and she come to help him solve his problem. Now I think of the movie Ghost House which was fun in many points. The two man and woman did not become lovers despite they lived in the same house and its sense of jokes was excellent, furthermore it didn’t miss giving the viewers a touching impression. If a ghost appears within a work, the work eventually become a comedy or a horror. It’s hard to think a romance from it. If you thought of Ghost the movie, let’s put that aside for a while. Because this story is a bit different.

Like any other setting of a fiction, it’s hard to take serious in answering the question ‘how would it be when you fall in love with a ghost?’ In my personal opinion, why should I think about dating a ghost while I’m not even dating a living person? The author must have dated too many living people.

The protagonist, Yuri, sees ghosts. She once talked to them with her ability to see ghosts, but now, for her life became too much for it, she decides to ignore ghosts. But soon, there was a ghost in her newly moved house. So, her annoyed life with the ghost begins.

 

Ko Jun, a ghost hungry to meet anyone since he hasn’t meet one after his death 3 years ago, and Yuri So, who can’t afford moving into another house and has to live in the house for a year, come to live together, as they agree on not invading each other’s life. After that, the work naturally follows their emotional path, which leads them in a delicate direction.

The emotional path. The work shows an excellent sense in depicting emotion. It knows how to develop the story matched for readers’ eyes, and it knows how to express characters’ feelings straight. Particularly the way it unfolds the story on the past gives a deep touch as if its lines are carefully woven line by line. It’s not easy to create a situation which makes the readers empathize with the feeling, which only could be called in a word: ‘it’s heavy’.

Furthermore, it’s not also easy to prepare the optimal composition and lines to the situation. The author proved herself to be an artist capable of all of these, with My Boo. Painful old stories aren’t used as a mere background; rather, they change themselves as energy to set life straight again. Passion in the process of getting out from the past does not lose to any other work. When the characters suffer the most, it unravels the feeling with delicate line of sight and speech, rather than showing the obvious pain. In this work, the story does not fester with feelings. Looking at everything, which seemed to be a story going by, finding their place is like recollection of fragments of an old memory of the most painful time. It makes us to empathize on the solution of tragedies and wounds.

Even in preparing an old anecdote, the author plays countless variations as if each scene has its place to be used again later. I could see a very organized design and deep consideration in this work. Moreover, the flow of frames unfolding all of these. These are basic things that should be ready before the story. Not many people do this well. The author finishes the work based on these. A work with strong basis can’t be a sandcastle. The author showed herself as an owner of a strong castle.

It was a pleasing work in a long time. I send my applause to excellent finish of the author, who already caught my eyes at the time of University Manhwa Contest for the Strongest.
