Would friends be different? No, students are different because they are afraid they might be prey so they protect themselves. Would I be different if I enter the same space? No. I’m not confident that I will be different, either. We all know it because we’ve grown up in such environment and we live in that environment even now. So, unless he’s a pushover, Yongju who butts in gives us a creepy feeling and refreshing pleasure as well.

An Eye for an Eye which was simply thought to be a school violence genre changes the viewpoint very speedily to process a story. As soon as Yongju is transformed into the old brother, the violent perpetrators in the school begin to get caught one by one on the invisible net. No, should I call them victims? They treated humans like less than dogs and didn’t hesitate to act like demons.

Showing the school violence, the attitude of teachers who remain idle because they are so busy keeping their positions, a problem solver who can’t stand so he gets deeply involved, the cartoonist brings a concern to us if another violence might be the only method of cutting off the loop of violence after all.

For some reason, Yongju makes a meaningful statement that "something to press anger is fear" and destroys the guys who come into his hands one by one. It makes us assume he might have some dark circumstances which will amplify his curiosity.

 

 

The most shocking thing to see this webtoon was that the level of school violence was beyond my imagination. Would they only use violence on campus? For them who consider their fists as the law, they don’t care whether it's a child, an adult, a man or a woman. When such an event is introduced in the news, this question is brought up. Who made them so?

 

However, as said in the webtoon, it is a matter to be considered by perpetrators, not by victims who lost their child. Only because perpetrators are still teenagers, their murder, all sorts of violent, and criminal offenses are being lightly punished. Perhaps it is time for a proper legal system. There is a problem we should think about at least once or twice in a strange world where victims can't be protected and perpetrators are protected.
