There is a scene like this.

A brother and sister who wake up late on the weekdays but wake up early on the weekend!

They always watch cartoon channel on Saturday and Sunday morning. They can’t take their eyes off from TV as if they are possessed by something.

Kids begin to giggle. A father, who is wondering ‘why they are laughing like that?’, begins to watch TV together. Soon after, a father begins to giggle.

<Get a grip> is like our home on every Sunday. <Get a grip> is a successful work which started as webtoon and was made season 2 with animation. It is long-run webtoon which published nearly 600 episodes since it was published in NAVER in 2009. (588 episodes as of June 29, 2015). Season 1 of animation was broadcasted in 2014 and season 2 was broadcasted in 2015.

<Get a grip> is basically an omnibus-style comic. Each episode makes readers laugh with different story. Main characters hold out well at first, but at the end, they just let go a grip on their head. A grip on their head refers to their mind. Since it is comic genre, it is very funny and easy to understand. And entry barrier is also low because we don’t need to understand all related stories with omnibus style. It means whatever you read, it is very fun.

Only 4 main characters who have the most troubles and thoughts in our society appear in <Get a grip>.

The story of four-member family, ‘Jeong Gwa-jang’, a father in his 50s who is forever a section chief and about to take voluntary resignation, ‘Jeong Sin’, a son who is going to army soon, ‘Jeong Ju-ri’, a high school girl who is having hard time for studying and a mother who are busy to support her family, is the main one.

Sometimes, other characters appear to expand the story. It is in omnibus style, but the way of the whole story was added to develop the story.

Sin Tae-hoon, a writer and Na Seung-hoon, a painter are in the same zodiac, having 12-year-old gap. Despite of age gap, two authors show very excellent collaboration. In this case, age is only a number.

Its animation was produced with 20 episodes for season 1 and 20 episodes for season 2 until this year. This work is also broadening its scope with various character goods and books. As authors say that they want to make characters which can be loved by Koreans for a long time, <Get a grip> is at some point around us.

Because <Get a grip> is loved by teenagers, it is your opportunity to get closer to teenagers. You may understand the words of teenagers such as ‘GAG’ (abbreviation of Get a grip) or ‘you lost your mind!!~’.

It would be good choice to read <Get a grip> before you go on a summer vacation and then take a vacation with your lovely teenage children.

First of all, I recommend to just immersing in this pleasant story.
