“She’s actually supposed to work with me.”
Jua and Nayoung, previously only known each other by faces despite they were in the same department of their school. On the day splitting up for a group project, Jua rescues distressed Nayoung surrounded by men. In fact, Jua didn’t think much to rescue her and she did it out of pity, but Nayoung, self-claimed a romance novel otaku, feels girl crush on her and falls in love with her. Nayoung then follows wherever Jua goes and makes Jua confused… Will something special between them bear fruit?
The reason why the total opposite is attractive
Jua is a girl standing on the border between tsundere and ill-mannered. She’s a little picky, but she’s also a capable woman who can turn anyone into her girl no matter their age. She’s also totally different when in school and out of school. Since she’s done looking for a girl for hanging out in school, she only wears a varsity jacket and jeans, while she becomes a queen when she goes out of school. Jua’s motto for love is “Good is good!” When she feels like it, she hits on and easily gets laid. Instead of exchanging feelings, she enjoys conversation of body (?). Her love is more like erotic one than platonic one. Upon facing a farewell notice from her ex, she tells her, flatly, “I thought we were just hook-up buddies” and then goes on to meet a new girl. But there was a natural enemy for her style who brings down her personality in one blow… She is Nayoung, the crystal of purity and the one best matched with a girlish tone and pink hair. As much as her pretty looks men hit on her, but she’s a lesbian. When she heard ‘you will get many men!’ in her childhood, strangely she wasn’t very glad. She also admired a prince with a white horse, but she drew a princess on a white drawing paper instead of a prince. Back then, she didn’t feel weird a bit.
At the time she wears school uniform, she begins to feel strange. When she and her friends are about to pick a male entertainer on a magazine as their liking, a female entertainer feels better for her. After looking her indifference on picking one, they mistake her reaction as she’s ignoring them on purpose, so they leave her out. Her friends leave her one by one, and finally a female friend she secretly crushed gives frustration to her. At last, Nayoung realizes her identity, and at the same time, she loses her courage and ends her school days without a lover or a friend.
For such Nayoung, Jua is like a savior. Because Jua is the person who lent a hand and spoke first when she was in a brink of trouble, treated her kindly. For other people, it would be nothing for others to be rescued from belonging to an unwanted team, but for Nayoung, who spent lonely school days, it was enough to see her as a nice friend or an attractive girl.
So, it was natural for Jua to feel embarrassment for Nayoung’s one-sided, not-love-like love. For all of Jua’s life, it was the first time to meet this clueless, full of fantasy, and foolishly goodhearted girl. At last, by their continuous ties, Jua and Nayoung constantly feel good for each other; once more Jua falls in love with Nayoung for her purity, and Nayoung with Jua for her confidence.
Everyday Lily? Because everyday is Yuri!
The webtoon is released for 17 episodes so far. For more than 10 episodes, finally Jua and Nayoung started their relationship. But we can’t relax yet, for out of the sudden a woman suspected for Nayoung’s ex came between them. The random girl sticks to Jua, who was shopping in a supermarket, and starts to babble about every single thing on Nayoung. Jua can’t just ignore her, because only a really close one to Nayoung can know about Nayoung so much. We don’t know what trouble or hardship would wait for them, and it’s too early to relax for their love worked out.
If you thought there will be something different for it’s a yuri, that’s a big mistake. Nothing’s different. It’s a webtoon showing everyday of an ordinary college couple. They eat, study in a library, shop for dinner, and hang out. Nevertheless, it makes us scroll it down. It constantly makes us to taste their honey-dropping romance.
The only special thing for this webtoon is maybe that the couple is not man and woman; it is woman and woman. But, in fact, you don’t need to see it that special. Jua and Nayoung in the webtoon must not welcome the special glare toward them. We must not forget they’re an ordinary couple as much as they’re a lesbian couple.
