Furthermore, as fantasy blends in, it rather makes a strange composition. The composition is not the only strange part. Both the title and story development are also strange. Each episode allows it's events to spring forth in an unpredictable direction, but it never loses its balance. The story is completely out of order, but totally reasonable. Moreover, the romance elements and the charms of each character that are revealed every now and then are just cute enough for anyone to fall in love with the webtoon. I didn't expect to ever say this to Holy, but she is so cute!

I personally do not prefer romance genre as childish, emotional battles that take place in a love story simply get on my nerves. However, though various conflicts naturally occur in the webtoon, it doesn't get too absorbed in them. The author clearly knows how to portray emotions comfortably. Even if all sorts of conflict arise in the webtoon, it never gets overwhelmed by them, only to demonstrate the author's capabilities.

2. Super Secret

 

As a different race appears in the webtoon, if you find the picture cute, it means to read the webtoon.

 

From [Sergeant Keroro] to [Harry Potter], there have been many stories depicting existences that are beyond our common sense, living around us. As even I can think of several applicable media if I were to claim there are only a few stories that deal with trivial, everyday life using such extraordinary materials, I wouldn't insist on paying lip service. If I do, I would feel sorry for [Modern Family].

 

[Super Secret] is a drama that consists of materials that seem to be suitable for the talented battle. The title surprisingly handles love seriously in contrast to the charming drawing style and the characters who consistently make cute moves in the story. However, it still is a romance webtoon that can be enjoyed casually because it does not take the narrative into too much depth, and the author's skill of brightening up the atmosphere by inserting comedy from time to time is rather proficient.

3. The Awl

 

As discussed before, the author Gyu-Seok Choi is a writer who can candidly express the uneasy aspects of society. Among his works, [The Awl], which is published on LINE, can be deemed as a webtoon that penetrates into the sufferings of the society literally like an awl.

 

The Awl, which addresses the conflict between the trade union and the company, does not view the opposition as a confrontation between good and evil. It makes it clear that both sides are equally composed of people who have to hold onto their means of living and thereby, are forced to behave in a certain way to protect themselves. The selfish images of the trade union and the pitiful reflections of the company employees are a great example where the webtoon portrays the situations very much realistically.

 

I wonder how I could summarize this webtoon in words. There is nothing I could say except that it reveals the society's stark reality. It's simply a webtoon that undeniably touches and aches my heart because it just exposes the reality calmly. Rather than recommending this title to any specific person, I believe it would be a worthwhile title for anyone to read at least once.
