A living legend of a Line webtoon, a role model for teenagers, a hard-working writer who hasn't taken a break for 10 years. There are many words to describe Josuk. So how does Line evaluate Josuk?

In line with the 10th anniversary of <Sound of the Heart>, Line Webtoon decorated the logo of the landing page of Line webtoon with <Sound of the Heart>.

 

Josuk is mostly known as a writer of <Sounds of the Heart>, but that is not his only work. In 2010, he published <Series of autonomous sci-fi exploration comics>, <Joe's Realm> in 2012, <Josuk's soccer cartoon> in 2015, and <Moon You> in 2016. He has a history of serializing new works almost every two years.

However, his works other than <Sounds of the Heart> did not gain much popularity among the readers. For example, <Josuk's soccer cartoon> failed to draw empathy from common readers as the comic was purely aimed at soccer maniacs. The comic he is currently working on can be defined as a space comedy narrative which can be expressed as "Disaster Truman Show in the Space".

People were sent to Moon to destroy comets coming towards the earth but the protagonist gets leftover as he fails to arrive on a returning spaceship. The effort to stop the comet was unsuccessful and the Earth takes severe damage by it. The earth was destroyed, but the main character left on the moon survived by himself. In an enormous abundance of food and advanced facilities, the protagonist thinks of dying. But at the same time, he wants to live. But there is a reversal in a story. In fact, The earth did not vanish.

The protagonist's attempts to kill himself and efforts for survival are being transmitted to the earth via satellite in LIVE. Those who are left on the earth cry and laugh at his appearance in the video and gets a feeling of affection and worship toward Moon You.

<Moon Yoo> deals with the story of "survival", which sounds like a heavy topic for a comic, but Josuk makes the story entertaining by appropriately mixing drama with a comedy. Moreover, the drawing of a Josuk itself is a comedy. It's already funny just by looking at it. It may be because of prejudice from <Sound of Heart>, but in fact, it makes people laugh.

I wondered if any comics contain SF and comedy at the same time. There are <Space Brothers>, <Cowboy Bebop> from Japan, <I Don't Know Space Battleship> from Korea, Hwang Mi Na's <Paradise>, and Yang Young Soon's <Denma>. Usually, these comics are centered through sincere topics and comedy is just a small part of the entire story. However, it is no exaggeration to state that Josuk opened a new genre called SF comedy with <Moon You>. So far, readers have been overwhelmed by similar stories where the main character becomes leftover in the outer space and feeling absolute solitude. I always hoped that the astronauts never wander the universe alone till they die. <Moon You> is like a combination of the movie "Truman Show" and "Martian" and readers can relax and laugh about it while reading it. I do not think that the beloved main character will face tragic death in a moon.

If you want to watch something that is SF but at the same time comedy, I would definitely recommend Josuk's <Moon You>
