This had my heart giddy in a subtle way. Just the perfect amount of sweetness. In the Philippines we have this word “kilig.” It’s how you describe the feeling of thrill caused by romantic experiences. And let me say there are subtle “kilig” moments in Secret Playlist that although not dramatic, they are satisfying. Just mellow kilig moments to quench your heart’s thirst once in a while.

It’s a story of Levi and Hanju. They are both college students and as the summary mentioned, Levi is an idol. I love how the story is progressing and I love how they are brought by music. I do have a feeling that a conflict will come once she finds out Levi knows who she is. I see a rival coming in, too. Or maybe rivals. I am expecting that a lot of crazy things will happen and I can’t wait for them. Another thing I like is that although there are kilig moments, romance isn’t really highlighted much. It’s not one of those love at first sight webtoons. It’s about an idol looking to do a collaboration with an artist he adores and a college student focused on having good grades to get through everything but these became a bridge for them to find their sweet love. Each episode uploaded is so full and describes scenes perfectly.

The art felt like a kaleidoscope to me. Lines were repeated and overlapped each other. Their eyes are amazing. The proportion of their body and how they were dressed were all so good. The color palette brought out the rough outlines of the art. All the fonts used complimented the overall look of the webtoon. The translations were perfect. Secret Playlist is still new to webtoon, though. There are still a lot of things we have yet to see. But so far, so great. I highly recommend it to readers. I am fond of reading webtoons produced by Koreans. They explain so vividly and their inputs on production are to look up to. I hope to find more of the author’s works to provide me a sweet escape from my everyday life.
