SUMMARY

Crossing over into another world and time after a freak accident, Korean high school girl Sabina is taken in by a duke of the Crentia kingdom- only to soon be offered up to the ugly old emperor as a concubine. When the king is killed by a mysterious assassin, Sabina must face the poisonous circle of other candidates in a battle for the royal seat. I have read countless stories about fantasies and magic and it never really fails to amaze me how a single mind can come up with amusing stories and ideas that entertains readers on how the story is about to turn out. In this case, instead of being reincarnated into another era or lifetime, there is a portal that leads from one place to another. I mean it’s possible if you are up for an adventure, right?

Sabina de Bonnefit, was a regular student who suddenly woke up into a new world where everything is different and way too sophisticated. She was bound to be one of the King’s concubine who was a well-known womanizer who only indulge himself into pleasure and lust and was also a terrible leader of the country. I mean, what a fate right? As much as it sounds overly crazy, her fate change when the king was murdered and then changed her path in another world. Her character is quite strong-willed and very careful at the same time which is a great balance of personality for a character because you would have the impression of her being intelligent and the one who carefully thinks about what to say or what to do in a situation. 

Lucretius Le Crensia, the son of the King who was so sick of his Father’s actions and was the next line in authority. He was the one who changed everything after the King passed away. His reign became different from the previous king’s image and became true to the way the kingdom must be. His character was quite like any other prince who had a struggle growing up with a stepmother who was greedy of power and was indifferent to her daughters. Like any other prince in a story, he was quite dominant and clever in every situation which became his charm in the story.

I personally think that this is an amazing story with unique characters who played part with connections that made really sense in the over-all story. Characters had their own flare especially the villains and sub- characters in the story. I love how it doesn’t only revolve around the two main characters but also had scenes of other characters as well. Although in the story about the portal, I wish that they furthered the story like how Sabina returned in her world, something like how she can live in both worlds but the story as it is was great too. The ending was really surprising though because it showed as how other people who end up entering the portal had it easy to live in the other world when they arrive. It is really a well thought ending which was for me is the most iconic happening in the story.
