There are evil girl characters in almost every story. They are necessary for the story to take dramatic turns. However, their characters are too charming to straight-up hate them. The fact that we can’t just hate these characters adds to their limitless special appeals. So, what makes them so appealing?   

1. Cheese In the Trap - Inha Baek / Soonkki

 

  We can’t skip this character when talking about evil girls. She is the strongest on the earth. She is so good at making a mess with people and environment around her. Her cleverness is astonishing, and makes the readers dumbfounded. Although, she is an appealing character.

 

   I bet what makes her appealing is that readers can empathize with her hidden past. It takes seconds for feeling inferior to someone to turn into hating someone. Her feeling inferior to her younger brother <Inho Baek>, a genius pianist, made her vulnerable to emotional wounds inflicted by people around her. As a result, her personality is inevitably twisted. These subtle charms make her difficult to hate even if her behaviors are reprehensible.  

2. I don’t want this kind of hero - Lady / Samchon

 

  She looks lovelier than anyone. Despite of her looks, she was a ‘yandere’, who gets super obsessed with who she loves. Not only she tried to kill the protagonist <Naga> multiple times, she gets jealous when she just sees him with any other female characters regardless of their ages or looks. Obviously, she is not normal. What makes her hard to hate then?

 

  The reason is simple. She is just so lovely. It is ironic, but that’s her appeal anyways. It’s unbearably cute to see her loving someone else. Her love is sometimes cruel and not understandable, but it is still love, which we cannot blame. Maybe it’s impossible to completely understand her appeals, which makes her character so unique.  

 

3. Lessa – Mindy Mindy / POGO

 

What kind of appeals does mindy-mindy who is merciless to others and promiscuous when it comes to manhunting have? Readers were disgusted when she, who wasn’t hesitant when she was killing others, showed her tears when it was her turn to become a prey. Even She has an appeal that makes her hard to hate. 

 

  What makes her appealing is, again, her past. She was very different in the past when she used to be innocent and feel guilty when killing others. Her innocent past made readers to like her instead of hate her, and she earned a title of ‘an evil girl who is hard to hate’. Also, what about her tiny and lovely face? Doesn’t it feel kind of guilty to blame her entirely for what she’s done? If you like her as a character, I want to say it’s completely okay to love this character.
